Marathon Relay

Marathon Relay teams will consist of 2 to 4 runners. The field is limited to 100 teams. Runners will be chip-timed. Relay legs can be any length and we will be using a “tag team format” where you can switch runners as often as you would like. Teams must complete approximately 95.1 laps, which is equivalent to a full 26.2 mile marathon. All registrants will receive a long-sleeve performance shirt. The race starts at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2024.

Aid Stations and Storage

There will be a large refreshment station at one end of the track with Gatorade and water available to refill bottles. There are two turns of the track where teams may assemble and make exchanges. This area is for runners only.

Awards

The top three male, female and mixed teams will be given awards at the awards ceremony.

Lap Counting

The race will be chip-timed. The scorer will use this to get lap counts for runners. There may be a scoreboard to display lap counts. Runners can also request a lap count when they go past the scorer’s table on the front stretch, and a volunteer will call of their count the next time around. Several running watches such as the Garmin Forerunner have lap tracking capabilities and runners are free to use those to keep track of laps.

Registration

The registration fee is $140 per team until December 31st and $160 after January 1st. The fee is non-refundable. We do allow you to switch runners after you have registered. To do this, please email us at pettitindoormarathon@gmail.com

The team captain will register themselves and additional members will join under the marathon relay team member registration area. Registration is closed.

Replacing Team Members

If a team member needs to be replaced prior to race-day, email pettitindoormarathon@gmail.com with the name and shirt size of the new runner and the name of the runner he/she will be replacing. It is not mandatory that you do this; you can just show up on race-day with your new team member(s), however, they may not get the shirt size they want.
